When I first learned the world wasn't built for everyone, it was through my parentsโ€” first generation Nigerian Americans who couldn't figure out how to buy tickets to an elementary school talent show through the online portal. Good UX can be the difference between showing up and ragequitting at the login screen.

Now, I turn initial ideas into stakeholder-ready MVPs across non-profit, real estate, music and healthcare companies. Empathy is at the core of my design philosophy, and by pushing for accessibility at companies like Homnox, I secured 6 partner organizations for them and over $200,000 worth of funding for land in Texas where they would be building homes.

Making stuff must have been pressed into my skull while it was still soft as an infant, because it's most of what I do outside of design. I've made props for dressing up, helped to organize and create merchandise for Queens College's table at Mocca 2024 and mentored high schoolers on building an app for an individual with ADHD. Learning is key to building a world for everyone, after all.

I first learned the world wasn't built for everyone through my parentsโ€” being first generation immigrants from Nigeria, no one gave them a handbook on life in the States. My mom has fought many a self-serve soda machine (and lost :( ) among other contraptions much more common in the US. Good UX doesn't just look "cool"; it looks like a user experience that can be intuited, and considers barriers from the physical to the cultural.

Empathy is at the core of my design philosophy. I pushed for the menu that users would design their homes in with Homnox to include an accessible interface and iconography, ultimately securing 6 partner organizations which would provide support for 3D printing the physical homes.

Most of what I do outside of design is make stuff. I've made props for cosplay, helped to organize and create merchandise for Queens College's table at Mocca 2024, and mentored high schoolers on building a task manager app for an individual with ADHD. I also love drawing and wearing fun outfits; you don't need a fancy occasion to look fancy.
